Del Marera

Del Marera is a Dallas-based rock band that blends the sounds of guitar-driven classic rock and modern alternative to create a unique and powerful sound. With thoughtful lyrics that explore themes of redemption, mental health struggles, and navigating the status quo, Del Marera is a band that speaks to audiences on a deep and emotional level. And with a live sound that is gritty and raw, they are a force to be reckoned with on stage.

Del Marera formed in 2021 and consists of John Wright (vocals, guitar), Hayden Redmon (vocals, guitar), Steven Shirley (drums), and Uzoma Aharanwa (bass). Wright and Redmon, friends since age 5, began making music together as teenagers. After a brief stay in Houston's East End on Delmar Street which inspired the project, they would eventually recruit Shirley and Aharanwa to round out the lineup. With a shared love for rock music and a desire to create something new and meaningful, the group quickly began making a name for themselves.

Del Marera's music is a mix of classic rock and modern alternative, with a focus on meaningful lyrics and powerful instrumentation. They draw inspiration from Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Smashing Pumpkins, Cage the Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, Grateful Dead, and more to create a sound that is both familiar and fresh. Their compositions explore the stories of heroes (and sometimes villains) on a personal level and leave the listener in a reflective state by infusing their songs with powerful character arcs.
